Selasih seeds are also known as Sabja or basil seeds. Native to India and other Southeast Asian countries, these seeds are one of the quintessential ingredients in Malaysian, Thai, Indonesian, Singaporean, and Indian cuisines, especially in desserts.
These seeds are usually consumed after soaking in water for around 30 minutes. These gelatinous seeds swell in water, become soft and translucent. Mildly fragrant, can be blended with a variety of drinks or garnished on top of ice creams and desserts.
