Rendang is an Indonesian/Malay dish. Pieces of meat (beef or chicken) slow cooked in a mixture of coconut milk, fresh herbs, roasted spices, tamarind, and toasted coconut. The coconut milk is evaporated to the point of a dry fry, leaving a rich, thick spice crust. Often served at ceremonial occasions and to honoured guests.
This Rendang Kit contains Rendang Paste, Toasted Coconut and Assam Gelugur for an authentic Rendang flavour.
Fresh ingredients – Please keep refrigerated. Also suitable for home freezing.
The rendang paste used in this kit is made to order and only has 5 months shelf life unless frozen.
